By the time we get this going, we'll be able to afford to start a brewery

BEGINNINGS!!!

And so it begins...

This is the initial and incomplete piping and instrumentation diagram for our new 10 gallon system. I still need to add the propane lines and control stuff, but hey, it's a start.

The vessels look like they're going to be long lead time from Stout's, so we will be brewing in the 5 gallon kit until later this year. Soon we're going to start messing with the controller in water and getting our fermentation in line with the awesomeness that will be this brewery. We'll be using some pretty simple test recipes to dial in the process and controllers, then we can start playing!

P.S. Props to Google Docs and Engineeringtoolbox.com for free P&ID toys!

  1. Ok... Rev'ed it once already to remove some valves... we're now down to three 3-way manuals and one control valve. There will have to be another control valve on the propane. I'll get to that later.
